Pump Aid has now opened its 2010 Christmas Appeal for Malawi.

This year Pump Aid’s Appeal is focused on helping the most vunerable in Malawi to gain access to clean water. We have launched ourChristmas 2010 Appeal in the hope that we can raise even more funds to continue our work to help people in rural communities, like Fistani.

Before Pump Aid installed an Elephant Pump in Fistani’s village in Malawi, Fistani would collect water 4 times a day from a borehole 15 minutes walk away. Fistani would get up at 6am everyday to collect water for her family before school. Now Fistani and her family have access to an Elephant Pump, Fistani is able to spend less time collecting water. She is now able to complete her schoolwork and homework as well as preparing for lessons!
